Audience feedback

After I completed my main audio task I wanted to make sure that my fellow peers also found my radio show reasonably presentable and professional, the overall feedback I received was extremely positive which pleased me greatly as I believe I had put a lot of time and effort into creating my project.

Sound Quality- The overall feedback regarding the quality of the sound was just as I had expected, almost everyone who listened to my audio recordings could quite easily distinguish which of the recording had taken place in the recording radio studio compared to the recording I did using the handhold device (which was used for the vox pop, out door presenting and the pre recorded interview) This was very pleasing as this was exactly what I intended to happen.

Topics used- The large majority of my peers thought that the topics I used were well chosen as they highlighted many different topics that take place on the island, aswell as very nothing to do in common so the audience didn't get bored listening to similar news constantly throughout the duration of the project. Of my peers who did not like the topics, their main reasons for this was that they did not find them entiring interesting to them.

Sound FX- The sound effects that I used throughout my project were recieved very well, my peers stated that they all fitted in really well within my audio recordings which was very pleasing after I thought that was one of the harder aspects of the editing.

Feedback of main product

The following is a three minute audio clip which a recorded shortly after I had completed the task, the feedback is from myself and is basically me expressing my views and opinions on exactly what i have produced and what I enjoyed in doing so.

Here it is!

Evaluation and Analysis of Main project

1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I believe that my main audio project develops the normal structure of a news radio channel, like most news radio stations such as the BBC 5 live and World News they all start with an opening jingle and after that they inform the audience of the presenter of the show and the main headlines around the world at that current time. To what I can see my audio project has a very similar formula to previous and on going professional radio channels, which i believe was very important to follow if i was to succeed in the task at hand. the opening jingle is reasonably catchy which hopefully will attract the viewers to listen to it when it has been played over and over again. Overall I felt it was extremely important that my product followed a very successful radio channel such as radio one and five live as they have been both proven successes throughout the country and are currently giving their respective companies a massive income to date. I felt it was important to ass in the small, sharp clip of music in between each main news headline as it allows the presenters a chance to catch their breath and prepare for the next headline, whilst also giving the listeners a chance to take in the news they have just received.

As far as my product goes in challenging the regular forms and conventions of similar media products it does nothing drastically different to any other popular radio station, due to the research which I completed it become clear that the majority of locals wanted a radio station which was very similar to what was already on offer but to limit the amount of world affairs news and home in on the more local side of the news because the likes of BBC news and sky news allows the locals to catch up on the world news whenever they want, also the internet is there for the latest world news.

2) How does your media product represent particular social groups?

After doing my intensive research It became apparent that the main social group that I needed to mostly aim the news headlines at was the people around the ages of 30 year old and over, this meant that I the news that I was presenting was not gong to be childish, but very serious and informative. As my radio channel would most likely be competing the BBC jersey for viewers, I felt that I needed to make sure that the news that I was showing would be interesting towards the majority of the social group. The news results that I got such as finding out that many of the locals look for the latest sporting news around jersey and the main land I though it was extremely important that I listened to what they had to say and take it into account. Overall it was extremely important that I realized the exact social group which I was targeting through the research that i did in order to gain as many viewers as possible, I believe that I achieved that and can therefore feel relativity confident that through all of the research the news and sporting news that I have conduced the viewers will enjoy listening to the radio station that I have produced.

3) What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I strongly believe that the kind of media institution that would look to take on my radio channel would be a relatively well respected local company such as BBC Jersey as the radio show will be well financed but as the research has been done many will look at this radio station as a 'people' company as it has strongly based its news and sporting information other exactly what the local public want to see from the radio channel. As the station will be playing at all of the prime times (which are 12 in the afternoon, 6 in the evening and 10 at night) it will allow all the working people to listen whenever they have the time, instead of playing it in the afternoon when they will most likely be at work and unable to listen to the radio, this was also very important that i got the timing of the show right which would benefit the station and most importantly the viewers of the channel.

4) Who would be the audience for your media product?

As already stated I believe that my main target audience would have to be people over the age of thirty due to the research that I had conducted. As my radio station will be playing at all of the prime times it will allows all of the working people to be able to watch it when required, any class from ACB1 and C2DE can listen to the station as well as either males or females as i do not believe that any radio station should have such a niche audience if it is to be a success (especially when dealing and being shown on such a small island to begin with). The overall aim for my radio station is to appeal to as many target audiences as possible regardless of what age or social group they belong to. Obviously with the research and results that I received it is extremely important that I look into it when deciding the overall outcome of the product but to be honest the radio station it their to promote local news and also give the viewers up to date events, breaking news and all the key sporting events as they take place and happen.

5) How did you attract/address your audience?

When trying to attract and address the audience of my radio station it was very important to make sure that the news that i would be looking to broadcast on my show would clearly relate and inform the audience. Therefore that was one of the main reasons for myself conducting the amount of research that I did, I quickly realized that if my station was to become a success it would be based around keeping the audience happy with information and news that they want to hear instead of just informing the audience as a whole the news that just about every other well respected radio station would be doing. In order to address the audience I wanted to make sure that all of the wording that was used was formal yet quite laid back at the same time, which I believe gives the effect of a calm and well educated mannered individual which allows all people of different backgrounds and educational capacity to enjoy and understand exactly what the presenter it aiming to get across to the listening public. Overall I believe that attracting the audience to this radio station was arguably one of the most difficult parts of this project, obviously the radio station will be aiming at both males and females but once the age range group has been established (which in my case was 30 years old and plus) it was then attempting to get news which was important but also important for both males and females at the same time. So i had to balance the news, therefore having some news stories that would interest men and woman individually but mostly having topics which would attract both the males and females.

6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I feel as if I have learnt an awful lot from completing this project, using garage Band has shown me that regardless of your musical ability and how well you can cut and edit parts together if you put plenty of hard work, time and graft into your work then you are be rewarded. The possibilities when using Garage Band are almost endless as far as making audio productions are concerned, it has a fantastic variety of loops, sounds and options (which when you look around the program are there to be seen) which was one of the key reasons for myself doing the main audio main project. Apart from using garage band, I learnt that recording in the radio station is basically extremely straight forward if you listen to the instructions and take it all on board. I thoroughly enjoyed using the high quality equipment we had on offer as I feel it highly increased the overall quality of my product and have me a deeper insight into the ever changing world of the media, which I am very much looking into for a future career.

7)
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Obviously as this is the main product I was required to go into much more detail when producing my final product. When making the preliminary task all I had to do was create a short opening jinle and add a short interview clip to show that I could mix the loops for actual audio. For my main task I was required to make the opening but also record and create a script and then edit it all together in a well rounded off package. So from that point of view it is clear that I have learnt more techniques when using garage band, also in the preliminary task the short recording that I did was recorded using the small handhold recorders which were very easy to record but the sound quality was no where near the quality of the radio station. From that I feel as if I have learnt more about the actual professional equipment and would feel more than confident taking part in our local school radio sessions as I feel as if I have learnt more than enough tips and techniques from using the radio station when recording my script for my project.

My post production audio feedback about the project

Production of my Audio project

When creating the audio project I firstly had to decide whether i would stick with Garage band or move onto another recording program, ultimately I decided to stay using garage band as I enjoyed using it for the preliminary task and felt i was well capable of producing a more than decide radio show.

After that was decided I had to open I new file usinf garage band, the following picture shows it was done :

Once that had been completed I had to produce my opening jingle, i stated the process by looking at and teting a variety of different loops from the arage band program, the following picture shows the loops that i had availbe to use whilst using the program:

Once the loops had been chosen it was extremely important to mix them together, this was done by uploading them up to the main board area so that i could alter them in the right position so that i could get the right results. he following picture shows the final positioning of the opening theme tune loops:

Once the opening has been complete then i had to record my audio show, firsly i was very keen on using our brand new radio station which we lukily have at our disposal in our media department. Firstly the main reason for this was because it was in a concealed areas and had proper equipment the sound quality would be of a very high standard and would also help the listeners to make the distinguish of the recording which had taken place in the studio to the recording whih had been taken in the streets of Jersey using a handhelp device. The following picture is one of our recording studio which I used to create my main indoor recordings:

Once I had decided to record in the media studio then i had to actually use all of the equipment myself, which was extremely straight forward after getting used to all of the equipment, the following picture was taken when i was recording my project in the studio:

After I had completed the indoor recording, in order to fulfil the criteria I had to do come outdoor recording, this was done using a decent quality handheld recording which was supplied by the media department, the following pciture shows me interviewing one of the random people over the 'cannibas' debate which I use in my main project:

When all of the recording was cmplete I had to process all of the recordings onto a new format whic garage band could read (without doing this process I would of not been able to add recording to me garage band project) the follwing shows the process which was taken in order to format my audio clips:

Once that process was complete all i had do do was put all of the files in order and cut parts out that where unrequired. The following picture is a compressed view of my final produced on garage Band:

the only process i had to complete after the completion of my main product was to format it into a quick time file which would allow me to process it onto my blog which is required. The following pictures is the process which was required to turn it into a quick time file:

And that concludes the step by step process for completing my final main audio project.

Questionnaire

I have decided to create a questionnaire which will hopefully help me to get a more clear idea about what does and does not need to be put into my radio show for the main project. The questions that I feel needed asked are what type of news do they like, what age group and what they look for when listening to the radio show. The following is a copy of the questionnaire that I produced:

Please circle your answer when required

After the completion of my questionnaire I asked 50 random people from my local area to answer it and these are the results that I have received:

Planning for Main Project continued

Now that I have completed the audio script it is important that I show how plan to structure my audio project, this is exactly how I plan to do so:

  • Pre production- As already explained I will write a script which will highlight exactly what will take place as it happens. It will include all of the individual characters and news reporters in my audio news podcast.
  • Creating the opening jingle- Very much like the first task, in my main task I will create the opening jingle using a program known as GarageBand, I will do so because I am now very familiar with the program and feel confident enough to create a decent opening jingle, also I will look to create the side jingle which will be played whenever the main headlines are being shown.
  • Recording- When recording ym main project I will most likely use the Mac's inbuilt recorder so if possible I will use the radio recording equipment that we have available to us. The recording needs to be extremely clear for the viewers, it is all about the quality.
  • Outside Recording- I will do all of my outside recording using one of the media departments portable recorders, this will allow the listenings to understand that the recording has taken place outside, ie the recorder will pick up the wind, blustery weather etc.
  • Post Production- Then I will edit it all together and hope it has all fallen into place correctly.

My Plan/ Script for the main audio task

The following is my main task plan, it will indicate the layout in which I will look to perform my five minute news bulletin.

........................................................................................................................................

Opening Jingle- serious sounding tune that will kick the news show off.

News Presenter- the news presenter will sound very serious and will inform all listeners about the latest news around the world and/or locally.

Sports specialist- after the main news presenter has introduced him; he will inform the audience of all the latest sporting news, including results and local sporting news.

Back to the news presenter- BREAKING NEWS! He will talk about the breaking news then, say something allow the lines of ‘we can now cross live down to St. Helier where our head news correspondent Dixon Cox has more on this breaking news’.

The main news correspondent will explain more on the breaking news.

Vox Box- main news correspondent will ask questions to normal people on the streets of St. Helier about their reaction to the news.

Back to news presenter- he will sum up the news and then end the show with the jingle at the beginning.

I will aim to keep to this plan as the structure of it would quite easily last five minutes (which ic the exact time limit we have on the news show). The following is a script for my show which will include all of the presenters.

Main Presenter- Hello this is News24 Jersey, with me your host Barney Orr. Our main news headlines are……………. That is all of our main news headlines, here is our sports specialist Jason Brown with all of the latest on goings throughout the sporting world.

Sports Presenter- The latest football news is that Jersey beat Guernsey in a thrilling 4-3 encounter at Springfield Stadium, which left the 900 jersey supporters with a deep sense of joy and satisfaction. Other results include Jersey Scottish beating a weakened Grouville side 1-0 and the Jersey Wanderers extended their domination at the top of division one with a routine 4-0 thrashing over relegation threatened St. Ouen.

Away from the local sport and England have taken a massive step to securing a first test victory over Ashes rivals Australia after fine bowling spells from Stuart Broad and Steve Harmison left the baggy greens with much to ponder. In Rugby, Johnny Wilkinson has reiterated his desire to force his way back into the England squad after recovering from a career threatening injury.

That is all of the latest news from me, back to you Barney.

Main Presenter- Thank you Jason, we have just received some breaking news involving the Governments decision on whether Cannabis should become legal in the Channel Islands. We can now go straight to our main political correspondent Michael Morris who is waiting in the Royal Square. Michael what’s the latest?

News Correspondent- As far as we are aware Barney from our close sources we believe that the States of Jersey have given the go ahead to make Cannabis legal in Jersey. Whether or not that will be the same for the likes of Guernsey we will have to wait and see. I spoke to a number of locals earlier on this morning asking if Cannabis was made legal would they be happy, this is what a number of them had to say:

Random person 1 (in like a really dull voice) - I think it would be wicked dude! We could all like have a massive party or something 24 seven.

Random person 2 (in a posh accent) – I believe it would be an absolute disgrace to allow the legalisation of cannabis to go ahead. I don’t want my children growing up under the drugs influence and I doubt any other respectable parent would want it.

Random person 3 (reasonably normal sounding voice) – I can’t really see if happening to be honest, the Government needs to use their head with this decision and if they do then the only obvious will be to keep the drug illegal.

News Correspondent- So as you can see where so real mixed opinion there that is all we have for you at the moment Barney, back to you.

Main Presenter- Well that was News24 Jersey with me Barney Orr, have a great night and we will be back with all the latest news tomorrow morning at the normal time.

Target Audience for Main Task

Gender- Male or Female

My news bulletin will be designed for both males and females, the news has never particularly looked to sound one gender out to attract. The main objective of the news is to give deep, accurate and breaking news on the mains news stories around the world, nationally or locally (depending on whether it is a main news firm like the BBC or one of their smaller branches like BBC Channel Islands). The news should never try to attract a particular gender.

Age- The Age group

For my news bulletin will take a very serious format (very much like what you expect to see when you tune into BBC news or the ITV 10 o'clock news) this will more likely attract the older generations, around the age of thirty plus. It is extremely important to make sure that the audience you are looking to attract with the news show is actually interested in the news that you are presenting. For example, there would be very little point of creating a news show for member of the public who are roughly around thirty plus if your main news headline is that S Club 7 have reformed. The below is a number of questionnaires and graphs which show my research into what news programs (if any) particular age groups watch on a regular occasion.

Interests

The main sort of audience that I would except to watch/listen to my radio news show would be both males and females, from the ages of 30 plus. This is because after doing intensive research if has become apparent that the large percentage of the viewers who watched BBC news and ITV news at their prime times ( six o'clock and ten o'clock in the evening and night time). The following is a chart which I created showing the percentage of news watchers compared to their age. I took the views of exactly 1000 people from my local area, so it would be far to say that the results I get would be fairly accurate.

Now that I have established what age range and target audience I will be aiming my news bulletin at (ages 30 and other) it is extremely important to establish what sort of news they prefer to listen to (ie whether they prefer listening to sports news and the latest weather over world affairs etc) For this I will ask a large amount of people what they prefer to listen to when listening tot he news and once that has been achieved I will take the three highest percentages and use them in my five minute news bulletin. Here are the results that I produced:

Now that I have gathered all of this information it has become apparent to me that for my main audio task, I will target my news at both males and females over the age of 30 (due to the results from my research) and that it will be a very serious news bulletin (very much in the same style as BBC news). Over the five minutes I will look have a main presenter informing the audience of today's most important headlines (current affairs) then I will have a Sports presenter who will inform the audience of all of the main sports stories and results. After that I will inform the audience of the political news.

Evaluation of Audio Project preliminary task

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My audio project uses the regular forms and conventions that you are likely to find in the likes of the Chris Moyles show, Sarah Cox show etc. It starts off with eh radio jingle (which is basically the introduction music to the show which is present in the majority of modern radio shows) Once that has droned out I have used a quiet hip hop beat in the background that is played whilst the presenter and star quest are having their brief conversation. So therefore I believe that my project follows all the regular forms and regulations that you will find present in most shows, there is always a form of sound playing throughout the short show. And obviously the music will be much more quiet as the the presenter and guest are speaking.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

I made my jingle knowing that the target audience I was looking to relate young men and woman and teenagers, the type of music I used was very hip hop and modern which they could easily relate to. My opening jingle uses a variety of different instruments and sounds. I use the electric guitar which could quite easily interest like fans of rock music but at the same time I use a street wise backing beat which could interest a completely different social group, therefore my jingle could interest may social groups and that was my initial aim.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I believe that the likes of radio one from the bbc and music 6music from the bbc could be interested in distributing my radio show as it looks to widen the popularity of all the young and upcoming music bands and at the same time look to promote all the latest music which will be extremely popular. The radio show will also look to bring band members, band managers and so forth to once again broaden the popularity of the bands. The like of radio one I believe could in interested in that sort of show as it could allow music lovers throughout the country to find out about these new bands and it would also enhance radio ones popularity (that is just an example).

Who would be the audience for your media product?

As previously stated the type of audience I believe that would want to listen to my radio show would be older teenagers and young adults. This is because all the music played on the radio station would be either music that is extremely popular and selling well worldwide or young upcoming bands who want and need to be recognised to boost their chances of success. So the probability of an old woman who wants to listen to classical music tuning in and enjoy listening in my radio show are extremely slim. I also believe that both males and females of the same generation and age will enjoy listening to my radio show because the chances are that the music that is laying will appeal to both sexes, not just one sex.

How did you attract/address your audience?

I believe that my radio show attracted the audience through my catchy my opening radio jingle is, i reckon that my the wide variety of beats, tunes etc and how well they all blend together create a very short and catchy tune that many listening would remember (also a lot of my fellow media peers have stated that one of the best points about my jingle is how catchy it is). I used Michael Morris as the presenter as he makes the radio program very sunny and actually interesting

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt how to use garage band well to a certain extent, I feel very comfortable using the program and if I was asked to make another radio jingle I believe that could produce a very catchy one in quick time. When I first started using garage band I thought it was very complex and difficult to find your way around, but the reality is that the program is very straight forward to use and has a fantastic variety of sounds, techniques and methods that you can play around with which can help you produce a top quality tune. It is very east to edit your music if you fell that something is missing or that something is either in the wrong place or just in general does not sound correct and you want to get rid of it. Overall the garage band program is an extremely helpful program and I feel very confident using the program.

Production of my Radio Jingle preliminary task

Firstly I had to open up Garage Band and start a new file, once that was completed I started adding a number of different loops from the garage band library and started to mix them together. This took a couple of hours to finally perfect what I beleive to be a very catchy and fresh radio opening jingle. Once that was completed I had to record both Micheal Morris and Scott Livingston having their short conversation, once that was completed I added the file to the Garage Band file and placed it in the required position for it to fit in with my jingle. Then to finish off I added a song which was strictly relavent the the star guest who was on the show.

Applications for my Preliminary Task

Throughout the production of my radio show, I will be using the Apple Mac program called Garage Band. This program is reasonably straight forward to use but the effects and overall things you can produce whilst using this program are quite brilliant and i hope this program will give me the best possible chance of creating a reasonably realistic radio jingle and show.

Target Audience for Preliminary Task

My particular target audience for my radio show will be music fans of most genres (ie rock, pop etc) and will constantly have interviews from members of popular bands and also the band managers (which is the interview that will be taking place in my edition of the show). In many ways it will be similar to the likes of Scott Mills and Sarah Cox's shows which orientate around listening to all the latest and most popular music. It would be played about lunchtime to early afternoon, is therefore it will be fairly light hearted but at the same time will look to spread the popularity of young bands around the world.

Media Research- Radio Shows

Radio Show One- Funk and Soul Show

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gstz0/Funk_and_Soul_Show_17_01_2009/

Even though I have never heard this radio show before, the opening jingle (even though it is very short) tells the listeners that it is a very light heartened radio show, which revolves around music. When the vice over begins you can hear techno sounds in the background which again suggests t hat it is a very modern radio station. As it is a music based radio show it instantly goes into a song after the voice after has finished, this gees on for around 2 minutes and can become very boring very quickly. Once the music drones out the presenter starts to speak, as this show is part of the bbc radio 6 music branch then it is likely to use the same introduction as the rest of the branch does. Overall this introduction is very simple, it explains what is going to take place after the intro music and then plays a song (most likely a popular one or a new resease) and then the presenter starts to talk, I like the format but feel that the length of the song after the intro is a bit boring and plain.

Although this is a not a news bulletin, it still has all of the required criteria that needs to be fulfilled. It is a radio opening that is frequently used when the show starts, this has been designed to catch the audience's attention, once the opening has slowly droned out the radio presenter will begin to talk and the show goes on from there. This is very important to take into account when planning my five minute news bulletin as this show has all the key components (ie the opening which sets the tone for the show and the presenter taking full control of the show) of a radio show.

Jingle Two- Chris Moyles Show

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gqcdr/The_Chris_Moyles_Show_20_01_2009/

Just by listening to the beginning of the show you can tell by the opening of the song that it is a morning radio show, the tune is very soft and laid back and is very easy to listen (or wake up to). The opening is extremely long with the typical 'take the piss' music song is very repititive which does make it slightly boring but once the sining spots Chris Moyles starts talking over the tune and the show begins. I feel that this intro is yet again too long until the presenters begin to start talking about their show, the introduction also does not mention what is going to happen throughout the show so no one really knows what is going to take place. Overall the introduction is very long and is soon to get annoying but once the music drones out and the presenters start speaking over the music the show gets alot more interesting.

Like the previous radio show, although this is not strictly a news bulletin it still has all of the required criteria. It has the opening radio tune that has been designed to catch the audiences attention, after that when the music drones down the main presenter starts to talk about their show and exactly what sis going to take place on the show that particualr day. This is very similar to what I need to achieve for my main project, so it was extremely useful studying this radio show.

Jingle Three- Scott Mills show

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gklm4/Scott_Mills_14_01_2009/

This introduction intro is extremely high paced and the tempo is completely different to the two previous shows which I talked about, the introduction music being so high temped could show that this show is presented in the late afternoon when people are nearing the end of their work and cheers every one up. Then once the music stops or drones down a funny sounding voice (with a echoing effect) informs all the listeners that all the radio one recordings can be found on the bbc website. Then it goes straight into a song, so it takes at least 5 minutes for the presenter to talk about the show. once the music drones out a funky tune in the background and scott mills starts talking about the show and just general stuff. I believe that this is a very good way of introducing show as he plays a very popular song and gets the listeners interested in the show, also the high tempo beginning of the introduction gets the radio listeners interested and they take notice of the show.

Once again this radio show is extremely similar to what I will need to achieve for my main task, the opening jingle is designed to catch the users attention (this is what I will need to design and produce on Garage Band for the project) Once that has been done the music drones out and the presenter begins to talk and inform the audience exactly what is going to take place throughout the duration of the radio show. As the show ends their is a music theme which gradually gets louder, this is very similar to what I need to do when my radio news show eventually ends.

BBC news 24

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/

the opening jingle of this radio channel is one of a very strict and professional kind which sets the tone to the listeners that this is indeed a very serious news channel which aims to inform their listeners with all of the up to date breaking news which reaches them from around the world. The radio channel stays on air for 24 hours a day so it shows that it is very professional and wants to inform the listeners of all the key news. When they go through their key main headlines they have a little sharp noise in between the different news headline which is exactly what I intend to do when creating my main audio project.

Overall BBC news 24 is an extremely well produced, professional radio show which is exactly what I need to base my main project on. The opening jingle as already stated is extremely professional and t the kind of theme I should follow as my radio show is intended to be a very professional and strict format for my local area. The news that this radio channel generally speaking is political, world events and the latest news in the sporting industry. This is key for myself as after completing my intensive research I discovered that the majority of the locals want to see plenty of sports news, politics and local affairs which is very important.

BBC radio 5

http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/

This radio news channel is not quite as strict as radio news 24 BBC is but nevertheless it updates the listeners with all of the main news whilst still been able to take interviews and slightly less serious topics that also manage to engage the audience with their topics that they present (i.e yesterday one of the main topics on the radio channel was who deserved to be the winner of a popular television show) this clearly engages the audience and therefore allows it to constantly get five star reviews with its fans and therefore allowing it to be one of the most popular daytime radio shows on the BBC.

The main reason for me using radio 5 live is that i offers a very wide range of news (such as local news, sporting news, world affairs and the latest TC shows) which truly allows the listeners to feel more wanted and required as the majority of all the main topics they allow their listeners to contact the show via email, they can phone in, post on their blog and text in via mobile phone which makes this extremely interactive. I will look to base many aspects of my main project on BBC 5 live for the sporting part as the show has their own sports presenter (which I will look to do) which I believe will be very important.

BBC radio Jersey

This news channel is very much similar to what I intend to produce for my radio show, firstly it informs the listeners with all the latest news stories around jersey. This is obviously a key factor for why this radio station is so popular with islanders. The presenters are generally very comforting to listen to not boring to listen to and they do not appear very bland or strict when listening to them). The channel also focuses on playing plenty of music for the listeners, this highlights that this is a very interactive and encourages the listeners to phone in and 'say your view'.

The radio channel is also extremely keen on informing the listeners on all the main news headlines throughout the United Kingdom and the current weather forecasts which is obviously extremely helpful. Overall this news channel will become very influential for me when considering the final outcome of my project, the style and way the show is presented is the way I will look to produce my final project.
